Funding awarded to support the future of Juno

Updated: Nov 7, 2023

We are delighted to announce being awarded funding of £250,000 to support the development of Juno’s next home. The funds were raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and awarded by Postcode Innovation Trust.

The Postcode Innovation Trust were presented with information about Juno, our values and our ambitions of changing the children’s residential care sector. Juno is a non-profit organisation that creates loving, caring environments where young people can feel safe and thrive, with trauma-informed practice at the heart of our care model. The funding will go towards developing our third home in the Liverpool City Region, which will allow us to look after up to 12 children from the area across the three Juno homes.

Managing Director Sophie Clarke commented: “Thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery, Juno can continue with our mission of improving access to high-quality residential care in the region. As well as improving outcomes for children in our area, opening a new home will create 13 new jobs, in roles where people will receive good pay, high-quality training and development opportunities that support their future careers. We really value the care profession and want to create meaningful, rewarding jobs that also make a real difference to children’s lives.”

Laura Chow, Head of Charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “Juno are not just building homes. They are creating jobs, giving hope, and transforming the lives of young people in the Liverpool City Region. And it’s great that our players are helping to further this work, enabling more children to have spaces where they feel safe and supported."

Our first home, Juno Oxton, opened earlier this year, with renovations and recruitment underway for our second home, Juno Wallasey.
